Dumbest: Spent $$ from savings on a house DP instead of on taxes.


Took forever to climb out of that hole with the IRS.

Best: Maintain a healthy savings account. Always. It feels much better to dip into that for car repairs, house projects, etc...as opposed to driving up credit card bills.
